Niles Canyon Railway

Niles Canyon Railway as a living history museum interpreting the influence of heritage railroads in the growth of California. Located in historic Niles, this museum offers exhibits that bring the history of America's western railroads to life, including historic steam and diesel locomotives and cars. The trains in Niles Canyon date back to the original transcontinental railroad that reached into Alameda Creek canyon in 1866. Almost 122 years after the first Western Pacific excursion, the Pacific Locomotive Association brought railroad operations back to Niles Canyon. Today, you can ride the Niles Canyon Railway between Sunol and Niles in Fremont, California.
