Central Park/Lake Elizabeth
Central Park and Lake Elizabeth began development in 1960. The Lake was dedicated to Fremont's Sister City, Elizabeth, Australia, on March 22, 1969. The Park is set on 450 acres with an 83-acre lake. Central Park and Lake Elizabeth was named the best park of the Tri-Cities area by the Argus newspaper for 2004.
Coyote Hills Regional Park
This busy park is located along the eastern shore of San Francisco Bay, northwest of the cities of Fremont and Newark. The Visitor Center contains educational displays and exhibits as well as the Possum's Pocket Nature Store. The exhibits portray the Ohlone way of life, and include a tule reed boat constructed by park staff and volunteers using Native American methods. Programs at the main shellmound site allow visitors to see a reconstructed tule house, shade shelter, pit house, and sweat lodge. Call the visitor center at (510) 795-9385 for information.
Don Edwards San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge
Just south of the east end of the Dumbarton Bridge approach is the headquarters for the Refuge. It is the largest urban wildlife refuge in the country. It receives over 350,000 visitors a year, with more than 10,000 using its educational programs. Administered by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, its purpose is to "preserve and enhance significant wildlife habitat in South San Francisco Bay; to protect endangered and threatened species; to protect migratory birds; and to provide opportunities for wildlife-oriented recreation and nature study." The Tidelands Trail which starts from the visitor center and climbs up to the top of the hill that the center sits on. At the bottom of the hill, you can take the fork to the left to go to paved Marshlands Road. If you continue straight at the junction, the trail loops back and follows along the base of the hill on the north bank of Newark Slough.
Gary Soren Smith Center for the Fine and Performing Arts
The Gary Soren Smith Center for the Fine and Performing Arts houses the G. Craig Jackson main stage theater, the NUMMI studio theater, the Louie-Meager Art Gallery, an outdoor amphitheater, a dance studio, television studios, and a radio station. The Smith Center supports the educational needs of the Ohlone College Fine and Performing Arts programs and serves as a cultural center for southern Alameda and northern Santa Clara counties.

Fremont Park Golf and Practice Center
The Fremont Park Golf and Practice Center is conveniently located between freeways 880 and 680 between Central Park's Lake Elizabeth and the scenic Fremont hills. The nine-hole golf course has a unique and exciting executive layout with five par 4's and four par 3's offering challenges for every level of play. The expansive lighted golf range offers 33 matted stalls and over 20 grass tees. There are two practice greens and a bunker practice area. The facility is maintained by GCSA certified superintendent, Ross Brownlee and managed by PGA Class A professional, Ken Powell. The golf shop is well appointed with golf merchandise and a club repair center is available. Open seven days a week, Fremont Park Practice Center is one of the best practice facilities in the Bay Area.

Skywest Municipal Golf Course - Hayward
The 18-hole Skywest Golf Course facility in Hayward, California features 6,862 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. Tree-lined fairways can cause the usual kinds of trouble for errant tee shots, though large greens tend to play true.
